Farm Flowers

Flowers have always bloomed on the farm, just not in the fields that they do now! Flowers were grown in round beds in the yard, tucked in landscaping in front of houses or under trees and in corners at Grandma Ruth’s house. In 2016 specialty cut flowers were added as a trial crop and have been expanding their footprint on the farm ever since. All flowers are field grown flowers, with blooming seasons from April to October. Low tunnels cover the cool season flowers that are planted late in the fall which are the first to bloom in the spring. Bulbs are planted in early spring, while most flowers are planted in the ground in April after the threat of the last frost. Many flowers bloom on the farm until the first frost in October.

Our flowers are grown using environmentally friendly practices. We believe as farmers we are stewards of the land and should do our part to protect it. In our flower fields we enjoy the buzz of bumblebees and the flutter of butterflies, so it is important to us to keep them safe!
